Pain started in back just above waist, spread to ribs which caused a "crushing" pain and spasams, pain under right ribs, bloating in upper stomach so painful it hurts to walk, horrible nausea, feeling that food is stopping in upper stomach and never going down, feeling as if a rock is moving up and down in my esophogus (sp?), feel as if food is coming out if I bend over, eating even small meals causes horrible upper stomach pain and bloating as if I had eated a entire pizza. Been to ER twice and getting the run around. Pain so bad that I sit up and night crying. Any info would help me a great deal. I have been on Prevacid, Zantac and more.

I started taking prevacid 2 months ago, and I haven't had my period since, has anyone else had this problem?

It takes about twenty four hours or so for it to work. I had to take it for a while and I did get relief. Hope you do too!

My brother has been suffering for a couple months now with severe stomach pain, gas, acid, and nausea, accompanied sometimes with sore throat and sinus problems. He has been to more than one doctor, and they have done little to help him. He is taking prevacid and taking fiber supplements because they said he had Irritable Bowel Syndrome. He is losing weight rapidly. He cannot eat. Does anyone have a clue how he can be helped?
Andrea Hill say:
My husband had that! It's called gastridous. An infection in the lining of the stomach. It hurt him real bad and he was laying on the floor throwing up one minute and dirreah(?spelling) the next. He went to the doctor and that's what it was. He has to watch how much sorrow stuff and pizza and real greasy hot foods that he eats, ecspecially late at night. But eventually it healed, and your brothers will too, if he follows good health instructions.
James Forman say:
Have you been to a gastrologist, instead of your usual family doctor? Or maybe his sickness is not medical?

Have you been to a gastrologist, instead of your usual family doctor? Or maybe his sickness is not medical?|Have they taken a culture? Sounds like he has an infection of sorts. Or a worm, parasites etc. Irregular eating will cause gas and execessive acid. This sounds very serious. Those Dr.s suck – he must go to another one. Sore throat could be his lymphatic system working overtime. Mucous is the bodys way of entrapping foreign particles. Please, get him to another Dr. Lack of fiber is not causing all of this!!!

you are eating something that is causing an out of control fermentation in your belly. the cure is not something for you to put in your body, but rather a removal process of the thing(s) that you KNOW are killing you (think really white foods), probably shouldn;t be eating meat more than once a day. heck! does anyone need it more than 10 times a month? get minerals and enzymes in your body in the form of clean healthy foods. whatever your diet.sorry.if you are truly looking for a cure.a pill will never do.anyone who tells you otherwise is just trying to sell you really expensive glue.
Doris Wilder say:
2 to 4 tea spoons of organic apple cider vingar before each meal.
Oliver Lowe say:
Yes there is First you need to have find out how bad it is. The Dr's I mean they have test (you drink some stuff that you wish someone never came up with then they look into you In a way some Dr's are differnt) but the Meds are Nexium and Ranitidine And they are not Cheap(I am no Dr Though You must go to the Dr to make sure this is what it is and how bad. He might change your diet he may do alot of things. Without insurance try The clinic get help from the state. One thing about Prevacid is not strong enough and taken 2 at a time dont help sorry to here your discomfort and hope you feel better soon
