Open questions about acidity & anti-acidity pills

My stomach hurts all the time. What could it be?

Ive been to my doctor 6 times in 3 months and there is still no answer. Everytime i eat, my stomach hurts in the left upper quadrant and I get nauseous and dizzy, My doctor says it could be IBS and he also gave me prevacid, but nothing works. I cant eat without feeling sick then going to the bathroom less than 3 hours after eating. Can someone help me understand what this could be and what to bring up to my doctor? I thought it could be my gallbladder or pancreas, he even tested me for helicobacter pylori, but alas nothing. Please help?!

  1. Esteban Schroeder Says:

try drinking ginger ale or sprite to calm the stomach. it helps out and don't eat or drink things that are acidic to you and get rest and don't stress yourself out too much, balance things out. change your diet, you can still eat what you want to eat but in smaller quantites.

  2. Freddy Moran Says:

That "could" be gastritis. Are you sure it's not a stomach ulcer? Just keep troubleshooting with your DR., eventually you'll pinpoint the cause.

  3. Jorge Thompson Says:

MAKE AN APPT WITH A GI DOC FAMILIAR WITH CROHN'S AND COLITIS.

  4. Jorge Thompson Says:

It might be a peptic ulcer. it could also be GIRD ( gastro intestinal reflux disease) though your doc prolly checked for that. Those would be my best guesses from the info you provided.

  5. Carson Weiss Says:

IBS usually affects the lower abdominal region. You may just have a food allergy to dairy, soy, nut products. Keep a diary of which foods you ate, and start a pattern. This will help both you and the Dr. He might be able to run an allergy test right now, but it's better if you can detect a pattern, so you don't have to go through all of that!

Please check the water that you use at home. The symptoms you mention seems to be water-borne.

i dont know what you have, but I will suggest you having days of eating only veggies and legumes and no milk, try soy milk instead. Just try it, it has to help.and you are cute by the way, get better soon!!!

I had the same problems with my doctors. I went through the whole ordeal for years. I even had surgery that was unnecessary. I finally went to a doctor who specialized in gastrointestinal problems and I found out I have colitis…the pain is in my left side. So go to a specialist. I hope you get the help you need.

Maybe it is something emotional…that might effect your stomach and your regular doctor might have a problem diagnosing that. I'm not completely sure though, but my stomach does that when im depressed.

I agree with windygurl87. Emotional stress can make your stomach hurt. If the medical doctor cannot find a diagnoses 2ond or 3rd opinions. The diagnosis can depend on your age also. Best wishes.

I had the same problem, still do almost everything I eat upsets my stomach. I’ve been threw several doctors saying the same thing . Lose weight change your diet, no spicy foods blah blah blah. They even put me on several different over the counter meds. Prilosec OTC , and others, then started taking kapidex, switched to nexium. Those last two mentioned helps but still I have problems. So finally I switched doctors cause they wouldn’t send me to get an upper gi. This new doctor I have I must admit is real good, she sent me to get a complete physical, and sent me to get my stomach xrayed, good thing I had no ulsers but had a hernia in my stomach, don’t know how that happens. Anyhow she also suspected I had gallstones, so I needed xrays done again, found out she was right,I have several gallstones and need my gallbladder taken out.
Gallstones can cause all kinds of problems from frequent diareaha to nausea throwing up and mainly stomach pains in the upper middle part or right side under ribs also backpains.
I never knew all this but that just might be your case, you need to tell your doctors to do further testing on you, cause some of them think they know it all. I now have an excellent doctor who listens and actually tries to solve my health problem.
