Compare prilosec with protonix?
Well, they are both used for heartburn. I don’t know how they really compare, but I do know that for a lot of people Protonix is way too expensive. My pharmacist (I work at a pharmacy) always tells people complaining about the price to try Prilosec OTC and they will usually stick with it. You should call a pharmacy or your doctors office for more information though.

Both are called "PPIs". Proton pump inhibitors.Prilosec was the first in its class.Both are pretty effective. However, some people may respond better to one than the other.On a trivial note, Protonix is available in IV for for hospital use in patients that aren't allowed food or drink.
